Deposits, cancellation & guarantees

Plain-English answers to "what happens with my money?" — the same promises you'll see throughout your quote.

Your deposit (20%)

A 20% deposit reserves your dates and lets us buy your materials before work begins. Nothing else is due until the work is finished.

Refundable: cancel up to 7 days before your start date and your deposit is refunded in full — no questions, no fuss.

Inside 7 days we've usually bought materials and turned other work away for your dates, so we'll talk it through — we'll always be fair, and wherever possible we'll simply move your dates instead.

Your statutory rights: as a consumer booking at a distance you also have a 14-day cooling-off period from the day you book, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you ask us to start work within those 14 days, you may be charged for work already done if you then cancel. Nothing in our policy reduces your statutory rights — where ours is more generous, you get the better of the two.

Paying the balance

The balance is only due after your final walkthrough — you inspect the finished work first, and we don't take final payment until you're happy. On larger projects (over £4,000) an interim payment of around 50% may be requested once about half the work is complete; if that applies to you, it's set out clearly in your booking confirmation — never sprung on you.

Your fixed price

Your quote is fixed against the information you gave us. It only changes if you add work, if measurements were materially different, or if we uncover something hidden (like damp or damaged plaster) — and in every case you see the revised figure and agree it before we do anything. Nothing is ever added to a final invoice as a surprise.

Discount codes

From time to time we share discount codes by email or text. Enter your code at the reserve step of your quote and the saving is applied instantly, on top of any automatic project saving. One code per booking; codes may carry an expiry date.

Warranties & guarantees

Workmanship warranty on every job: 30 days (Essential), 90 days (Professional) or 180 days (Signature) — if anything isn't right, we come back and put it right.
Checkatrade Guarantee — as a Checkatrade member our work is covered for up to £1,000.
£2m public liability insurance on every project.

Prices & VAT

The price on your quote is the total you pay. If VAT applies to your job it is already included in the quoted figure — nothing is ever added on top of the price you agreed.
