I've seen that from both sides.
I was lucky enough to work on some of the biggest decorating projects in London, learning from people who believed that if a job was worth doing, it was worth doing properly. Those years taught me the craft. They also taught me something I never wanted my own customers to experience: the bigger the company became, the smaller the customer seemed to feel. You'd wait days for a quote. Different people turned up every visit. Nobody seemed fully responsible. And the person who gave you confidence at the start was never the one looking after your home at the end.
So I came back to Leicester and built PaintMyWalls around one simple promise: treat every home with the same care we'd expect in our own.

- The price is the price. Your quote is fixed and itemised. If something genuinely unexpected turns up under old wallpaper, we talk before any extra work happens — never after.
- Preparation first. Fill, caulk, sand, prime. The finish only lasts if the prep is right, so it’s never skipped — it’s built into every quote.
- Trade materials included. I use premium trade paint (Johnstone’s Trade as standard, Dulux Trade and Dulux Heritage as upgrades) at no markup.
- Your home is treated like mine. Furniture covered, floors protected, tidy at the end of every day — and you inspect the finished work before paying the balance.
